The new showroom for the Design Collective Group opened on September 2 with a welcome event attended by several members of the local design community. It was great fun, but it was the champagne and great conversations with friends and colleagues that added the most to the festivities.

Michael Thomas, FASID and Michael Baker hosted the event to introduce their new studio at the Scottsdale Design District in Scottsdale, AZ. This new endeavor in the desert valley features custom and production cabinetry, decorative hardware, tile collections and unique, one-of-a-kind accessories from artists and craftspeople from around the globe.

Thanks to all who dropped by to help kick-off this new business and Michael and Michael look forward to seeing you again.

The Desert Is Not As Bad As Florida Humidity.

I have learned a lot while living in the Arizona desert valley these last two years.   It’s not that bad, … even when its 117 degrees.    The clue?   An air conditioning system that works plus when the humidity is below 5%.  It may not be the most ideal environment but so much better than being in Florida when its but 90 degrees and 95% humidity.  Check out my blog on the subject of humidity vs the dry heat of the desert.  It is an interesting concept this issue of humidity.      http://www.thedesigncollectivegroup.com/blog.html
